Letters and Boredom and Grand Slam Galore

Cymru am byth! <3 Well done boys! I am Welsh and proud, today just showed why. Third Grand Slam in 8 years. With the game played in memory of Merve 'the Swerve'. Probably not the best game of rugby we've played this season but a bloody good game! RBS 6 Nations Champions and Grand Slam Winners 2012 . . . Sorry but I'm Welsh and I love rugby. Shame Ireland couldn't beat England on St. Patrick's Day, but I know that there will be celebrations anyway!!

Great song!!!

So anyway apparently I either don't exist or nobody wants me. Everyone was sent letters with their grades on Thursday, and okay everybody's grades were wrong or they had been told that they had withdrawn from the course, but still I didn't get a letter at all! Does that mean I just don't exist on the university system? Well apparently it has been sorted by the course co-ordinator and we should receive a new letter with actual grades sometime this week, and only the three people who left before christmas have been withdrawn. So will have to wait and see if I get a letter this week! Also I applied for playscheme back in February. Not heard back from them, however Kieran had a letter for an interview this morning! Fair enough him getting an interview but he applied the week after me, and I'm actually qualified :( he has done 2 days with Flintshire Youth Festival of Sport and is currently studying Public Services. I have BTTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development, have worked as a one-to-one support worker and a classroom assistant in a primary school. I have done work experience for a theatre in education company, and work placements of 5 months each in 2 primary schools, a playgroup, a day nursery and an assessment centre for children with additional needs. I also have paediatric first aid, health and safety, food safety and have done forest schools awareness, chatterbox playtimes introduction, foundation phase training, braille, moon, Makaton, deaf-blind manual and Welsh for teaching assistants. Now I am studying Social Inclusion at University. Surely in a job working with children in a playscheme environment, running activities for their holidays then I am more qualified and experienced!??? I'm not begrudging him the job I just want to know what the point of me getting qualifications, experience and training is when at the end of the day they will interview people with next to no experiences and irrelevant qualifications. Sorry to rant, I just get frustrated, wondering why I bother at all! Good luck babe!! Fingers crossed for you.

Eleven People on a Rope
Eleven people were hanging on a rope, under a helicopter. Ten men and one woman.

The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave, because otherwise they were all going to fall.

They weren't able to choose that person, until the woman gave a very touching speech.

She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids or for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return.

As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping.

He got his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership. Taking off     down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through      what little hair he had left. "Amazing," he thought as he flew down I-75,         pushing the pedal even more. Looking in his rear view mirror, he    saw the     highway patrol behind him, blue lights flashing and siren blaring. He floored it to 100mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, "What am I doing? I'm  too old for this," and pulled over to await the Trooper's arrival. Pulling in         behind him, the Trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch and    said, "Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a   reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go." The old         gentleman paused. Then said, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a Florida State Trooper. I thought you were bringing  her back." "Have a good day, Sir," replied the Trooper.

A brand new store has just opened in New York City that sells Husbands. When women go to choose a husband, they have to follow the instructions at the entrance:

"You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are 6 floors and the value of the products increase as you ascend the flights. You may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit the building”

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

-The 1st floor sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs.

-The 2nd floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

-The 3rd floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids and are extremely good looking.
"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.
-She goes to the 4th floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous and Help with Housework.
"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"
-Still, she goes to the 5th floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, help with Housework and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the sign reads:
-Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opens a New Wives store just across the street.

-The 1st floor sign reads: Floor 1 - Women that love sex.

-The 2nd floor sign reads: Floor 2 - Women that love sex and have money.

-The 3rd - 6th floors have never been visited!

Why We Love The British:
1) Commenting on a complaint from a Mr. Arthur Purdey about a large gas bill, a spokesman for North West Gas said, "We agree it was rather high for the time of year. It's possible Mr. Purdey has been charged for the gas used up during the explosion that destroyed his house."
(The Daily Telegraph)
2) Police reveal that a woman arrested for shoplifting had a whole salami in her underwear. When asked why, she said it was because she was missing her Italian boyfriend.
(The Manchester Evening News)
3) Irish police are being handicapped in a search for a stolen van, because they cannot issue a description. It's a Special Branch vehicle and they don't want the public to know what it looks like.
(The Guardian)
4) A young girl who was blown out to sea on a set of inflatable teeth was rescued by a man on an inflatable lobster. A coast guard spokesman commented, "This sort of thing is all too common".
(The Times)
5) At the height of the gale, the harbourmaster radioed a coastguard and asked him to estimate the wind speed. He replied he was sorry, but he didn't have a gauge. However, if it was any help, the wind had just blown his Land Rover off the cliff.
(Aberdeen Evening Express)
6) Mrs. Irene Graham of Thorpe Avenue, Boscombe, delighted the audience with her reminiscence of the German prisoner of war who was sent each week to do her garden. He was repatriated at the end of 1945, she recalled. "He'd always seemed a nice friendly chap, but when the crocuses came up in the middle of our lawn in February 1946, they spelt out 'Heil Hitler.'"
(Bournemouth Evening Echo)

WOMEN'S REVENGE
"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.
"No," she replied, "but my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the most legal evil thing I could do to him."

A Frenchman and an Italian were seated next to an Scotsman on an overseas flight. After a few cocktails, the men began discussing their home lives.
"Last night I made love to my wife four times," the Frenchman bragged, "and this morning she made me delicious crepes and she told me how much she adored me."
"Ah, last night I made love to my wife six times," the Italian responded, "and this morning she made me a wonderful omelet and told me she could never love another man."
When the Scotsman remained silent, the Frenchman smugly asked, "And how many times did you make love to your wife last night?" "Once," he replied. "Only once?" the Italian arrogantly snorted. "And what did she say to you this morning?"
"Don't stop."

Woman's Prayer

Before I lay me down to sleep,

I pray for a man, who's not a creep.

One who is handsome, smart and strong.

One who loves to listen long.

One who thinks before he speaks.

When he says he'll call, he won't wait weeks.

I pray that he is gainfully employed.

When I spend his cash, he won't be annoyed.

Pulls out my chair and opens my door.

Massages my back and begs to do more.

Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,

and knows what to answer to "How big is my behind?"

I pray that this man will love me to no end,

And never ever attempt to hit on my friend.

Amen.

A Man's Prayer

I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge breasts

who owns a liquor store and a boat.

Amen

A hunter kills a deer and brings it home. He decides to clean it, prepare it, and serve the deer meat for dinner. He knows his kids are fussy eaters, and won't eat it if they know what it is, so he doesn't tell them.

His little boy keeps asking him, "What's for dinner dad?"

"You'll see", he replies.

They start eating dinner and his daughter keeps asking him what they are eating.

" Ok", says her dad, "Here's a hint. It's what your mother sometimes calls me."
His daughter screams... "Don't eat it, Jimmy !...... It's a

f***ing  arsehole...!!!"

A woman stopped by unannounced at her recently married son's house. She rang the doorbell and walked in. She was shocked to see her daughter-in-law lying on the couch, totally naked. Soft music was playing and the aroma of perfume filled the room.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm waiting for my husband to come home from work," the daughter-in-law answered.
"But you're naked!" the mother-in-law exclaimed.
"This is my LOVE dress," the daughter-in-law explained.
"LOVE dress? But you're naked!"
"My husband LOVES me to wear this dress," she explained. "It excites him to no end. Every time he sees me in this dress, he instantly becomes romantic and ravages me for hours on end. He can't get enough of me."
The mother-in-law left. When she got home, she undressed, showered, put on her best perfume, dimmed the lights, put on a romantic CD, and lay on the couch waiting for her husband to arrive.
Finally, her husband came home.
He walked in and saw her lying there so provocatively.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"This is my LOVE dress," she whispered, sensually.
"Needs ironing," he said. "What's for dinner?"

A Useful Guide To Women's Language . . .

FINE
This is the word women use to end an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up................ Never use "fine" to describe how a woman looks - this will cause you to have one of those arguments.
FIVE MINUTES
This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so it's an even trade.
NOTHING
This means "something," and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with "Fine"
GO AHEAD (With Raised Eyebrows! )
This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine"
GO AHEAD (Normal Eyebrows)
This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care" You will get a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.
*LOUD SIGH*
This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing"
*SOFT SIGH*
Again, not a word, but a non-verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" mean that she is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe, and she will stay content.
THAT'S OKAY/ IT'S FINE
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often  used with the word "Fine" and in conjunction with a "Raised Eyebrow."
GO ON THEN!
At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.
PLEASE DO
This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay"
THANKS
A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say you're welcome.
THANKS A LOT
This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when  she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing"

God's Views on Gardening...

GOD: Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, thistle and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect, no maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colors by now. But all I see are these green rectangles.
ST. FRANCIS: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers "weeds" and went to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass.
GOD: Grass? But it's so boring. It's not colorful. It doesn't attract butterflies, birds and bees, only grubs and sod worms. It's sensitive to temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want all that grass growing there?
ST. FRANCIS: Apparently so, Lord. They go to great pains to grow it and keep it green. They begin each spring by fertilizing grass and poisoning any other plant that crops up in the lawn.
GOD: The spring rains and warm weather probably make grass grow really fast. That must make the Suburbanites happy.
ST. FRANCIS: Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut it sometimes twice a week.
GOD: They cut it? Do they then bail it like hay?
ST. FRANCIS: Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags.
GOD: They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it?
ST. FRANCIS: No, Sir. Just the opposite. They pay to throw it away.
GOD: Now let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grow. And
when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away?
ST. FRANCIS: Yes, Sir.
GOD: These Suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut back
on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth and saves them a lot of work.
ST. FRANCIS: You aren't going to believe this Lord. When the grass stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it.
GOD: What nonsense. At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. Plus, as they rot, the leaves forming compost to enhance the soil. It's a natural circle of life.
ST. FRANCIS: You better sit down, Lord. The Suburbanites have drawn a new circle. As soon as the leaves fall, they rake them into great piles and pay to have them hauled away.
GOD: No. What do they do to protect the shrub and tree roots in the winter and to keep the soil moist and loose?
ST. FRANCIS: After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something which they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the leaves.
GOD: And where do they get this mulch?
ST. FRANCIS: They cut down trees and grind them up to make the mulch.
GOD: Enough. I don't want to think about this anymore. St. Catherine, you're
in charge of the arts. What movie have you scheduled for us tonight?
ST. CATHERINE: Dumb and Dumber, Lord. It's a real stupid movie about ...
GOD: Never mind, I think I just heard the whole story from St. Francis.

I know I was born in the 90's but thought I would include this anyway:

According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in  the 50's, 60's, and 70's probably shouldn't have survived, because:

- Our baby cots were covered with brightly coloured lead-based paint which  was promptly chewed and licked.

- We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, or latches on doors or cabinets and it was fine to play with pans.

- When we rode our bikes, we wore no helmets, just flip flops and fluorescent 'clackers' on our wheels.

- As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the front passenger seat was a treat.

- We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle - it all tasted the same.

- We ate dripping sandwiches, bread and butter pudding and drank fizzy pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing.

- We shared one drink with four friends, from one bottle or can and no one actually died from this.

- We would spend hours building go-carts out of scraps and then went top speed down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into stinging nettles a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

- We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back before it got dark. No one was able to reach us all day and no one minded.

- We did not have Playstations or X-Boxes, no video games at all. No 99 channels on TV, no videotape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones, no personal computers, no Internet chat rooms. We had friends - we went outside and found them.

- We played elastics and street rounders, and sometimes that ball really hurt.
- We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits. They were accidents. We learnt not to do the same thing again.

- We had fights, punched each other hard and got black and blue - we learned to get over it. (AND MOVE ON)

- We walked to school on our own and to friend's homes.

- We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate live stuff, and although we were told it would happen, we did not have very many eyes out, nor did the live stuff live inside us forever.

- We rode bikes in packs of 7 and wore our coats by only the hood.

- Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected.

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

**And you're one of them. Congratulations!**

Much love xxxxxx
